REFLECTIONS....

Image
As the academic year draws to a close, perhaps it is time to pause and reflect-upon what has been. The past fifteen months has presented circumstances of huge challenges in the academic world. The rapid shift from face-face teaching to on-line formats proved tricky - certainly for old codgers like me who had to learn new tricks at rapid pace. However, if as we move towards a new academic year if we learn anything from this pandemic it is how enmeshed our global ecologies are. From bat poo in a Mine in China to Covid 19 in Portsmouth. It is this enmeshment of ecologies, histories and futures that informs the module Histories, Theories and Matters of Concern at the Unversity of Portsmouth School of Architecture.  Perhaps like the little girl on the right of the image above, we need to see our world from a different perspective?
